Brake Controller and Trailer Wiring For a 2014 Audi Q7 Pulling a Tandem Axle Trailer
Question:
I am pulling a two axel camping trailer. Will this kit handle the current needed for this 4-brake trailer? I heard maybe up to 3 amps times four? Not sure. Also, my 2014 Audi Q7 has PWM power. To confirm, this harness will work? I am also assuming, besides the 12V battery power from the front of the tow vehicle, that I also need the brake signal from the brake pedal? Thanks much

The Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit
Item # 119250KIT that you are looking at is only for the running lights and tail lights on your trailer. It is compatible with the PWM wiring on your 2014 Audi Q7. You will need a 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L that will carry power for the brakes.
Using a Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will take power from the charge line circuit of the 7-way kit and apply to the brakes on up to 2 axles. The Echo plugs in line of the 7-way and will brake the trailer when it sees power sent to the brake lights on the trailer. Since the same brake light wires are also used for turn signals it must see power from both circuits to operate the brakes. For this reason you should never use your emergency flasher lights when using this brake controller.
