Can Heat Shield of 2020 Subaru Forester be Trimmed Same Between Curt and Draw Tite Hitch

I purchased the DrawTite Class III for my 2020 Subaru Forester. Regarding the Heat Shield modification. I understand a section of the shield must be trimmed. However, looking at the similar CURT C14309, the heat shield is modified by cutting two holes. It seems both hitches are similarly attached, using the same holes. For the DrawTite 76271, can the heat shield be modified similar to the Curt making holes instead of trimming a heat shield?

The Curt Hitch part # C14309 and the Draw Tite part # 76271 that you referenced are similar enough that the heat shield trimming between the two in their instructions could be used for either hitch.
