Determining The Correct RV Roof Vent Lid Replacement
Question:
I have a USA 2016 model cargo trailer. To obtain a replacement vent for the one that is cracked. Where exactly should you measure to ensure I’m ordering the correct size? I understand the difference in the hinges already. My vent has a crank in the middle to lower and raise the vent. Do I need to remove the vent in order to get the correct size? Thank You!

Since all RV roof vents follow a standard 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" fit, finding the correct replacement vent lid is going to be determined by the brand and hinge style. Since you already know the hinge style you'll need to know the brand/style of the vent.
For example the Vent Cover for Ventline Old Style Rounded Dome Trailer Roof Vents # BV0554-01 you were looking at is going to fit post-1995 Elixir trailer roof vents and Ventline pre-2008 trailer roof vents.
To take all the guessing out you can also just use the Replacement Lid for Jensen, Ventline, Elixir, and Ventadome RV Roof Vents - White # A10-3375. This vent lid comes with brackets that will screw into the side of your vent for a universal fit.
