Comparing the RockyMounts MonoRail vs. RockyMounts SplitRail Bike Racks
Question:
Looking at the MonoRail and the SplitRail for transporting two e mountain bikes, 50# each, with 2inch receiver. Like that the MonoRail is 6 lbs lighter but not a deal breaker for the Split Rail. What is the main difference and why would you suggest I choose one over the other?

Both the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10004 and the RockyMounts SplitRail LS Bike Rack # RKY11404 would be a great option for your 50lb. E-Mountain bikes. They are going to feature a lot of the same features with a few slight differences. First I will tell you what they both have, then point out the differences and provide you with my recommendation.
Both of these racks have a 60 lb. per bike capacity, so they will be compatible with your 50 lb. bikes. They will both feature a tilting function, anti-wobble function and cables lock (the SplitRails cable lock is integrated into the mast of the rack). They both also have a limited lifetime warranty and can be expanded using an add on adapter ( # RKY10005 for the MonoRail and # RKY1150 for the SplitRail ).
The RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10004 will be 6 lbs. lighter (38 lbs.) and can handle tires up to 5" wide.
The RockyMounts SplitRail LS Bike Rack # RKY11404 does weight 6 lbs more (44 lbs.) and handles tires up to 3" wide. The anti-wobble system and cables locks are a little more sophisticated on this rack as well.
I would recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10004. The reason for this is the lighter weight that you mentioned. The biggest reason would be the tire width that it can hold. I do not know what brand your E-Mountain bikes are, but most come with wheels that are wider than 3". Which would mean you would need the carrier that can hold tires up to 5" wide. This would also provide you with the option to upgrade your tires later if they are not already larger than 3".
