Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit For 2017 Open Range 297RLS 5TH Wheel Camper
Question:
I have a 2017 Open Range 297rls Light 5th wheel. The dry weight is 7485 lbs. The GVWR is 9995 lbs. It currently has tandem 4400 lb Lippert axles. Im going to replace the axles with 5200 lb Dexter axles. Since the weight of the 5th wheel isnt changing, but rather only the axles upgraded to 5.2k, which Roadmaster slipper spring with shocks system should I use? The 5k RM-2460-2560 or 7k RM-2460-2570? Thanks

You will want to use the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2560. This system is for axles and suspension rated up to 5,000lbs. Since you are not increasing your weight capacity these will give you the best ride quallity.
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570 having the heavier 7,000lb springs will create a rougher ride with the stiffer springs.
I recommend having new U-Bolts w/ Nuts for 3" Round Axles # CE15287GA since your current bolts will likely show corrosion with being 5 years old. You will need 8 of these for both axles.
