Troubleshooting How To Remove Spriol Pin From Landing Gear Shaft That Won't Raise Or Lower
Question:
My spirol pin is falling out of the top worm gear- which apparently has caused that leg to bcm inoperable-therefore i cannot rotate the gear, neither by the elec motor or manual crank to get the pin vertical - nor is there room to use a hammer and punch to drive it out even if it were vertical- if i have to remove this pin before i can remove the shaft- what do you suggest? tks!

Expert Reply:
If the shaft for the your jack is spinning freely due to the spirol pin being damaged, you will be able to remove the e-clip from the shaft and remove the shaft with the gear and damaged spriol pin in place.
The Lead Jack Repair Kit # LG-146059 will have new gears, shaft, pins and clips to replace the damaged or missing parts.
