Solar Power Recommendation For Powering A 45' Heartland Milestone 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

we have a 45ft Heartland Milestone 5th wheel. we want to install solar to replace the generator that runs everything. We have 2 AC units 15500 and 13500 BTU, a 12cuft fridge, 2 rvs, electric fireplace, convection microwave, all lighting is L.E.D. plus all the normal small appliances. ive looked at 2 of you kits, the 750 watt and rge 570 watt. i think either one would work, however... i do think the inverter will need to be the pure sine one and probably more than one. thanks in advance

While solar power is very helpful for RVing off the grid, they aren't quite at a level to power everything unless you install a whole farm worth of panels. Solar power isn't directly powering your appliances, but instead just recharging your battery bank.

Both of the Go Power Solar Systems # 342-75010 and # 34282185 you referenced will require 4-6 batteries each. Both systems are recommended for 159aH in replenishment a day (with peak conditions).

Pure Sine Wave Inverters like the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger # 34275013 included with the # 34282185 are definitely recommended to properly and safely power your sensitive electronics.

To know if either of these two systems would be enough you would need to calculate how many amps your appliances would need to function. Since you're trying to run two AC units as well as other appliances my honest recommendation is to still use the generator with one of these systems to supplement the power needed from the generator.

I've attached some of our help articles on solar power below to offer you some additional information. If you have any more questions please feel free to reply back.
