Weight Distribution and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2020 Nissan NV 2500

Question:

Is there a reason you did not recommend the EQ37060ET ? It seems this is the popular model for owners of the AS Basecamp 20X. Many express they prefer the steel bars to the chains. Thoughts?

I would recommend the Strait Line weight distribution system part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and features only sway control that works to prevent sway before it starts.

For a brake controller I really like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED24FR which only puts a small knob on your dash instead of a big controller box and is proportional instead of time based. To install it in your 2020 Nissan NV 2500 would only require the install harness part # RED39FR as well which plugs in under the dash.

The Equal-I-Zer systems like the part # EQ37060ET are really great. I'd say they are nearly tied for the best systems out there with the Strait Line that I mentioned. Some prefer the sway control of the Strait Line but overall the Equal-I-Zer is considered to be the best and simplest. Either one would work well but if other owners of your camper really like the Equal-i-zer that's a great choice.
