Troubleshooting Lower Voltage Output Of A Progressive Dynamics PD4135K Power Center
Question:
I installed a LiFePo4 batery in my TT and replaced the OEM WF-8735 with a PD4135. Thank you for helping me with the installation and answering my many questions. After fully charging my battery with an external charger up to 14.4v, I connected the TT to shore power and monitored the battery charge over a week plus. I made sure the switch on the PD4135 was ON for the lithium option. The Charge Wizard went from blinking every 1 sec Normal Mode to every 5-6 secs Storage Mode. The battery charge has ped to 13v 30 charge. I have completed all the trouble shooting and testing you told me to do and it still doesnt appear that the PD4135 is charging my lithium battery. Is the PD4135 designed to wait for the battery to be at 20 or less to charge?

Lithium mode on Progressive Dynamics Power Centers like the # PD4135K is a single stage charging style so the Charge Wizard isn't going to be compatible with this mode, thus making the light blinking irrelevant. They are currently working on 2-stage charging profiles for power centers but these are currently only available in specific converter models.
Since you're seeing a voltage drop you could need to increase the wire gauge. I recommend removing the shore power and then removing the reverse battery fuse and then re-hooking up the power and checking the voltage output to see if the unit is the issue or if you're just losing voltage due to the fuse giving too much resistance for the gauge of wire used. We've seen voltage drops due to the distance , a bus bar, or even an inline fuse. Increasing the wire gauge used will typically solve the issue.
