No Power to the Tekonsha P2 Trailer Brake Controller on a 2008 GMC Yukon
Question:
I used the online installation video provided by etrailer to install a P2 brake controller in my 2008 Yukon and I'm not getting any power to the unit.

First, lets make sure you have attached the brake controller wires to the correct tow package wires from under the dash on your 2008 GMC Yukon. The brake controller black goes to the red/black tow package wire to provide 12 volt power to the controller. White connects to white for ground.
The red brake control wire goes to the Yukon light blue/white wire. And the blue controller wire goes to the dark blue Yukon wire. If you see an Orange wire on the Yukon do not use it with the brake controller.
If all of the wires are installed as indicated above and you do not get power on the brake controller black wire then there may be some connections that you will have to make under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers these connections for you to view.
With all the connections under the hood made and the fuses in the correct locations you should be up and running in no time.
