Is A Sliding Hitch Needed For 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 With A 6-3/4 Bed?
Question:
I have a 2022 Sierra 3500 Denali with the Duramax turbo diesel engine and a standard bed. Do I really need a sliding 5th wheel hitch for this? Really do not want to get one as it takes up so much more space.

You do not need a sliding hitch like the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM8550034 for your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 with the 6-3/4' bed.
You can used a fixed hitch like B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3710, however, you'll also need a rotating pin box like the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR. Using a rotating pin box will alleviate the need for a sliding hitch, because the Sidewinder will give you the turning clearance you'd get from a sliding hitch.
