Space Between the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System and Axle on a 2022 Ram 2500

Question:

Hi, i installed the DRTT3500E on my 2022 Ram 2500. I will have a slide in camper on about half of the year and the other half i will be empty. The question i have is whether or not i should have a gap on the Ram 2500 with the DRTT3500E when empty. The instructions below are confusing because the first statement makes me think there should be a gap and then the third statement makes me think for the heavy duty trucks there should not be a gap and it should be in constant contact. I opted to not include the spacer that was included and have a gap when empty. If i put in the spacer there would not be a gap. The instructions say: Rear ES kits for Pickups and Vans should have a gap between the rubber spring and contact point when empty. A partial load, or vehicle accessory will reduce or eliminate the gap. Front SES kits are usually in full contact. Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks, Trailers, and Motorhomes will be in constant contact, and have no gaps.

You will want a space between the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear Axle item # TDRTT3500E and your axle. The installation instructions call for a 1 inch gap. The only time there shouldn't be a space is when the rear of your 2022 Ram 2500 is loaded down in the bed or hauling a trailer.
