Which B&W Companion For 18k 5th Wheel Toy Hauler For 2021 Ford F-350 With OEM Prep Package
Question:
My Toy Hauler has a GVWR 0f 17,855 lbs. Do I need the 25,000 pound BandW Companion or would i be ok with the 20,000 pound BandW Companion? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Since your 5th wheel toy hauler has a GVWR of just under 18,000 lbs, the 25,000 lb capacity B&W Companion # BWRVK3305 isn't necessary, so you can save some money and go with the 20,000 lb capacity Companion. The correct part number for that for your 2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty with the factory puck system is the following:
- B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package # BWRVK3300
Since you just need the hitch to have more capacity than your trailer, the 20k capacity of the # BWRVK3300 will be perfect for you. You made a really nice choice with the Companion, as it is simply the best 5th wheel hitch in the industry.
The reason why the Companion is the best is because it is constructed to ensure you have the best possible ride. It has a herculean, 1-inch thick jaw system that minimizes movement of the king pin better than any other hitch, and when combined with its cushioned bushings, give you the most comfortable and quiet towing experience possible.
