As you mentioned your 2002 AZ-TEX utility trailer having a 2-3/8" diameter axle, it is safe to assume you have a 3,500 pound axle. With that said, with your registration saying you are rated up to 5,999 pounds, it does complicate things. Typically you would see this kind of capacity when there are 2 axles, but I don't think I have seen a 5'x8' utility trailer set up with tandem axles before.

I would usually say to go with the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring - 25-1/8" Long # e54SR as they are rated for a 3,500 pound axle (1,750 pounds a piece), but may not be heavy enough for your trailer. What may be a better option is the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring - 25-1/4" Long # e34SR. These are rated for 6,000 pound axle (3,000 pounds a piece) and may suit your weight capacities better. They will be a lot stiffer though, so the trailer may be a bit bouncy when not loaded.
