Can a Fixed Reese M5 5TH Wheel Hitch Be Placed On 2012 Ford F-250 Short Bed Factory Prep/Puck Mounts
Question:
Will this hitch work in a short box bed? I am putting a montana high country on this hitch. I have other friends that use a stationary hitch with there 5th wheel trailers.

Yes, the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30921 will fit into the factory prep/puck system on your 2012 Ford F-250 short bed truck. Since this is a stationary hitch rather than a Sliding Hitch # BWRVK3370 you will not be able to make a full jackknife turn. So when maneuvering in reverse it is possible to contact the rear cab of your F-250 against the front corners of your camper unless you are using a pivoting pin box.
If you have a pin box like the Reese Sidewinder # RP34FR it will move the pivot point of your pivot point from the hitch to the mount for the pin box(22") so that you can still make jackknife turns without damaging your truck and trailer.
