If you have a Class III hitch like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75682 on your 2013 Cadillac SRX I think your best option would be to get a Rola Swinging Enclosed Cargo Carrier # 59109, I can guarantee this carrier would give you enough clearance to open the lift gate of your vehicle. Check out the review video I attached for this product also.

We have not had the chance to install a Thule Transporter Combi Hitch Mounted Enclosed Cargo Carrier # TH665C on an SRX like yours so I could not say for certain if you would be able to open your lift gate while it is tilted.
