Does Blue Ox Patriot Have to be In Moving Vehicle for Towed Vehicle Braks to Apply
Question:
Dear Etrailer expert, I read your previous response regarding how the patriot system work. If I understand it correctly, the motorhome has to be in motion when the brake pedal is applied inside the coach in order for the wireless remote to send the signal to the actuator in the towed vehicle and activate it. When the coach is at rest pushing the manual control on the wireless remote with activate the brake unit but when I step on the brake pedal inside the coach while at rest to test the system, nothing happens. Is that normal? Thank you so much.

What you are seeing is normal. When the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is at a stop and it can't sense a change in inertia it would not apply the vehicle brakes like it would if the vehicle was moving.
