Replacing A Burnt Out Coleman RV Air Conditioner Control Box
Question:
Hello, What control box do you recommend? I previously had a Coleman Mach 8 heat pump installed. Backstory: My Coleman Mach 8 heat pump stopped working. As you know, it is impossible to get a Mach 8+ right now. I bought an Advent ACM-150 cool only unit to get us through the summer until a Mach 8+ become available. I modified the plug/wiring and attempted to start the unit. It did not start at all. I removed the cover from the control unit and discovered the black wire and connection to the SHED relay was melted and the wire was not attached. I can only assume when the Mach 8 was going, it pulled too much current and fried the wire/component. Rather than replace the relay, Id like to just purchase a new control box that will allow the ACM-150 to work with my Micro-Start Easy Thermostat. What control box do you recommend? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

The only way to replace the control box for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 is to install a new air distribution box and thermostat. The Advent control box is not going to be compatible with your current Coleman air distribution box or thermostat so replacing just the control box isn't going to work and we do not carry any Coleman control boxes for you to replace your current one with.
You can use the Air Distribution Box w/ Built-In Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACDB which has a built-in thermostat and control knobs on the unit or you can use the Air Distribution Box w/ Wall-Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners # ACRG15, which will come with a wall mounted thermostat for controlling the system.
I've attached some videos below that will show you these units in use as well as explain installation to help you in this process.
