Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For a 2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Question:

I have a 2007 F-250 4x4 Diesel that weighs 8000lbs. I am looking at putting a driveline disconnect on it and a tow kit to pull behind my discovery motorhome. What all do I need and what do you have that you can provide?

We don't sell any kits for the disconnecting the driveshaft so unfortunately I can't offer you anything for this process, however I can tell you everything you'll need to flat tow your vehicle.

To flat tow your 2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty you'll need a tow bar, base plate, braking system, tow bar wiring kit, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you:

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # e84ZR. This tow bar has a 10,500lb weight capacity to handle weight of your 8k F-250 with some extra capacity for any items you might need to haul in the bed. It features non-binding latches and telescoping, self-supporting arms that make for fast and easy hookup or disconnect on any terrain. This tow bar also has an adjustable head that tilts up or down 3" to keep tow bar parallel with road during towing and a shank that has a built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop for additional adjustability.

Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 4403-1. These direct-connect base plates make connecting to your tow bar quick and easy. The removable arms provide a nice clean look when not in use.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247. This diode kit allows you to use your Ford F-250 Super Duty's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote from the cab of your motorhome.

Safety Cables: The # e84ZR comes with safety cables so you won't need to purchase any separately.
