Weight Distribution for Tongue Weight of 950 lbs to Replace Andersen No Sway Hitch

Question:

I have the Andersen No Sway hitch and the travel trailer I am pulling is no more than 8500 lbs. My tongue weight the last time I had it weighed was about 950lbs. My tow capacity is 8500lbs and my tongue weight is 850 max. So am I ok to tow it or is there something I can do to make it safer. I read on another website that dead weight hitch max is 850lbs. Then below it is says weight distribution hitch max tongue weight is 1275lbs. So is this true? Thank you for all of the help

Expert Reply:

We don't carry the Andersen No Sway Hitch but we have heard more than a few times that it doesn't do well on higher tongue weights like what you have. The best option would be the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 that you referenced as it has a tongue weight of 600-1,200 lbs and features best sway control at preventing sway before it starts.
