Why Can The TDE 46210 Use 2 Different Size Grease Seals?

The Expert Advise list 2 different grease seals for TDE46210 hubs. They have different IDs which is the correct grease seal for this hub? part # 168255TB Or seal # RG06-050. or something else?

The reason that there are 2 different size grease seals for the one TDE 46210 hub is the hub can fit different spindles. Since the outer diameters of both seals are the same they will both fit inside that hub. I have mostly seen the Seal # 168255TB used in marine applications mostly from EZ Loader boat trailer where a 3,700lb axle is used.

The Grease Seal # RG06-050 that you found in the another answer will fit the more common 3,500lb trailer axle.

This is why I typically recommend verifying bearing, grease seal and race numbers or diameters before replacing parts.
