Yakima Roof Rack Landing Pad 16 Wont Line Up On 2019 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I ordered the Landing Pad 16 for Skyline Yakima Towers and Yakima Crossbars. The Landing Pad 16 does not work for my vehicle as I do not have the middle screwed hole to screw the LP16 into. I have a 2019 Toyota Highlander LE that comes with Factory holes for installation of crossbars. There are two holes pre-drilled which came that way. My question is this... Will the Landing Pad 7 work as it appears they have the 3 drilled holes for installation with 2 side holes? I was really hoping to get something that did not attach down the side of the frame and that appeared more sporty than the regular crossbars. I was also hoping not to have to drill into the roof of my vehicle and Toyota will not do that as i have already asked. If that will not work, could you give me some guidance as to what might?

There are two roof configurations on a 2019 Toyota Highlander, bare roof and flush side rails. The Landing Pad 16 part # Y00242 is designed for models with flush side rails. If you have a bare roof you need to use the BaseClip Fit Kit part # Y06130. I think you might be looking at the pre-drilled holes in the roof used to attach the flush side rails from the factory and if so these can't be used and you would have to use the rack for bare roof models. I have attached a video below of the rack installed on a model with flush side rails.

Flush Side Rails - part # Y00425, part # Y53TR, and part # Y00242
Bare Roof - part # Y00426, part # Y28TR, and part # Y06130
