For your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6-1/2 foot bed, I strongly recommend using a fifth-wheel hitch with a slider when towing your Grand Design 31MB. This is because with your short bed, you need to make sure that you have enough of a slide to ensure that the front end of the trailer will connect with the rear of your truck's cab.
For a great solution, I recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400-5W. The Companion comes with a 12-inch slider that is great for navigating sharp turns with your 1500. Also, apart from being 100% made in the U.S.A., the Companion comes with 3 different height settings to give you a better leveling angle with the coupler.
Along with the hitch, you need the B&W adapter # BWGNRK1019-5W. The great thing about the adapter is that it doubles as a heavy-duty Turnoverball gooseneck trailer hitch (if you ever want to change up the application). It also comes with safety chain loops and a hitch ball.
If you need fifth-wheel wiring, I recommend the Curt Harness # C56000. This harness simply plugs into your existing 7-way receiver plug.
