Recommended Tow Bar Wiring Kit For A 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab
Question:
This appears to be for a fifth wheel. My truck has an electronic taillight converter but it has been tapped into several times and is corroded. Just looking to tap into the factory harness for a 7 prong plug for my trailers with electric brakes. was looking at item 20111, but not sure if that is correct?

For your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. Roadmaster is known for their quality and responsiveness if you ever have an issue with their products. Plug in wiring harnesses like the # HM56200 you were looking at tend to have issues so I always recommend a standard diode kit to keep everything simple and easy.
This kit is going to come with everything you need to transfer your motorhome's light signals to your Ram, such as the 4 Hy-Power diodes, 6-way vehicle socket, 6-way to 7-way adapter cable, etc. The diodes will prevent any electrical feedback and the damage it can cause to your vehicle's electrical components as well. I've attached a video below that will offer some additional information as well walk you through the installation of this product.
