The choices of compatible Thule rooftop cargo boxes for the square load bars on your 2007 Honda Fit Sport will depend on several factors: the vehicle roof weight limit, the crossbar spacing and access to the rear hatch. A roof-mounted antenna may also interfere with some larger cargo boxes. The largest boxes from Thule will interfere with your rear hatch and/or your roof antenna.

We offer several Thule cargo carriers that will definitely clear the rear hatch on your Fit. The 11 cubic-foot Force M, part # TH6356B, offers a slightly reduced box weight of 35 lbs. The Pulse M, part # TH614, offers a 14 cubic-foot capacity and a 34-lb box weight.

The roof weight-bearing capacity of your Fit Sport (which will be indicated in your owners manual or be available from your local dealership) is an important consideration. Keep in mind that the roof is carrying the weight of the roof rack, the cargo box itself, plus the weight of your loaded cargo. It is important that the vehicle roof weight capacity not be exceeded. For example, if your roof rack weighs 10 lbs, and your choice of cargo box weighs 40 lbs, this total of 50 lbs must be subtracted from the vehicle roof weight limit. So for example if your Fit were to be rated for a 100-lb roof load, you could then transport safely 50-lbs of loaded cargo.

Another option is to install a trailer hitch receiver and use a hitch-mounted cargo carrier. The hitches available for your 2007 Fit Sport, for example Draw-Tite # 24776, have a 200-lb tongue weight rating. This is the maximum downward force that can be applied. If using a hitch cargo carrier such as the Curt # C18110 (30-lbs) you could transport as much as 170 lbs of cargo. This combination of hitch and cargo carrier is also more cost-effective than many rooftop cargo boxes.
