Adapter Needed For Husky 16K Sliding 5TH Wheel Hitch On 2022 Silverado 2500 With In Bed Prep/Puck
Question:
I just got my new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and I need to find a way to use my 5th wheel hitch with the new truck. I have a Husky 16,000lb sliding 5th wheel hitch and it mounts to regular rails, but the new truck is a short bed and it has the factory mounting points that are supposed to be for the newer hitches. Is there an adapter or do I have to get a whole new 5th wheel hitch now?

You can use the Adapter Rails # C88KR to be able to install your Husky 16K sliding 5th wheel hitch in the bed of your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Short Bed with the factory in bed prep/puck system. This adapter will mount into the other 4 mounting holes on your bed and give you mounting points of a set of industry standard rails. Those are the mounting holes that the Husky hitch requires. Do note that this adapter will raise your hitch inside the bed by 2" so you will likely need to adjust the hitch to keep your 5th wheel level.
If you cannot lower your 5th wheel hitch enough for your trailer you may want to consider using the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3775. This hitch will drop into the factory mounts with no adapter needed. The hitch height is adjustable from 17" to 19" to ensure you have enough clearance on your bed rails for your 5th wheel trailer. It is also rated at 20,000lbs versus the 16,000lbs of your Husky hitch.
