Recommended 3-Bike Rack For A 2021 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
I have an ebike that is 45lbs without the battery. Will this rack work? Or is there another rack in the same price range you would recommend? I also want to carry two additional lighter bikes so I am looking for a rack that carries 3 bikes. Thanks!

The Kuat has a per bike weight capacity of 40lbs so it would not be capable of hauling your ebike. Instead I recommend the RockyMounts SplitRail LS Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY11404-3 which has a per bike weight capacity of 45lbs and is designed to carry 3 bikes. It is going to be a bit more price-wise but that is typical when you switch to a larger rack (2 up to 3 bikes) and when you get one rated for heavier capacities to haul ebikes.
This platform-style rack holds your bikes by the wheels with ratcheting hooks and sliding straps for zero frame contact. The front-mounted lever tilts the rack with bikes loaded for cargo area access and folds it up for storage. You can also easily convert this rack down to a 2-bike carrier if you aren't needing to haul 3 bikes. Because of the ratcheting wheel mount design you won't have to worry about purchasing a frame adapter bar to properly mount your bikes if they had a step-thru or child frame.
