Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed with 6-3/4 Foot Bed

I have a 2022 Silverado 2500 with the short 6.5 bed and the factory puck system. What fifth wheel hitch do you recommend for this setup? I've read your answers about fixed vs sliding and I think I want to play it safe and go with a sliding hitch. Thank you!

Good thinking - going with the fixed hitch can be easier, but if you aren't careful it can cause more harm than good.

For your setup I recommend going with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide which comes in 18K # DM8550034 and a 21K # DM8550035 capacities, and will mount to the OEM pucks on your truck using the Rail Adapter # DM6333.

I really like the Hijacker Autoslide because it means you'll be able to take your tight turns without leaving the comfort of your cab. There are some really nice manually sliding options out there, but when you need to make a tight turn (like into a gas station) you'll have to take a number of steps to move the hitch into the maneuvering position and then back into tow mode once your turn is complete. The Hijacker also has a really nice setup and jaw system that will give you a really smooth towing experience.
