Recommended Adapter To Use A Reese 15K Hitch In A 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed W/ Puck System
Question:
I recently purchased a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 that came with the pucks in the bed and I need to install my Reese 15k hitch. What rails do you recommend?

To transfer your Reese 15K 5th wheel hitch into your new 2022 Chevy Silverado short bed with OEM prep package you can simply use the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 21K # DM6333 to adapt from the standard ISR fit hitch to the puck system. This adapter will drop right into your pucks and has levers to lock the adapter in place.
Since you have a short bed I do recommend switching to a sliding 5th wheel hitch to prevent the nose of the cab from coming into contact with the cab of your truck. I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000lbs # DM8550034 with the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 21K # DM6333 I mentioned above.
This hitch automatically slides as you drive to give you 14" of additional clearance for tight turns. Other sliding hitches will require you to get out of the cab to put the hitch into the maneuvering position to complete the turn and then get back out and re-lock the hitch back into the towing position. The wraparound jaw provides a smooth ride and a locking bar offers added security. The double-pivot hitch head pivots front to back and side to side to ease hookup and help to limit chucking.
Note: If your trailer has a Trailair Rota-Flex pin box then you will also need the Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates for Trailair Rota-Flex Pin Boxes # DM6171 to lock the pin box in the head of this hitch.
