Recommended Sliding B&W Base For A 2022 Chevy Silverado Short Bed With Factory Pucks
Question:
I just upgraded my 2020 Silverado 2500 to a 2022 Silverado 2500 and need some help. I have a B&W Companion that I have been using and really don't want to part with it as it has served me very well. The part number is BWRVK3710. The only problem is this is coming out of a long bed and my new truck is a short bed, so I need a slider hitch. But can I use the head from the previous hitch with a new sliding base? This truck also has the factory pucks, so I would be very happy if I could do that. Gotta try and save money where you can these days.

You are definitely in luck! The 20k B&W Companion ( # BWRVK3710) that you had in your 2020 Silverado 2500 uses the same head ( # BWRVC3006) as the new sliding option for your 2022 Silverado 2500 will.
With that said, you will need the Slider Base for B&W Companion Slider # BWRVB3775. This will have the same 20,000 pound capacity and it will lock directly into the pucks in your new truck. The head will attach the exact same way as with your previous fixed model, so that will be quick and easy.
A potential add on is the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # 50-97-410. This will install inside the bed and you wont have to drape the wiring from your 5th wheel over the top of the tailgate, which can potentially damage the finish. It isn't something completely needed, but it is something I like to recommend.
