Question:
I am in need of a trailer hitch for my 2022 Honda Odyssey but have the hands free liftgate function and don't want to lose it. Any help would be appreciated.

No matter what trailer hitch receiver you install on your Odyssey you will potentially face an interference issue with the hands free sensors located at the center where the receiver tube opening is located. Typically the sensor will still work but require you to just hold your foot up to either side of the hitch receiver. For your 2022 Honda Odyssey I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98855. It has a maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 3,500lbs and maximum tongue weight (TW) capacity of 525lbs. Note: this will not increase the GTW or TW capacity of your vehicle so you'll want to review your owner's manual and follow which ever has the lower capacity rating. This trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your Honda Odyssey's frame with no welding required.
The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.
If you don't already have a 4-pole wiring harness to power the lights on your trailer then I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite HD Module - 4-Way Flat # 118781. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind an interior trim panel in your rear cargo area, on the passenger's side. Once you've plugged in the connector, you will have to route the harness through the jack storage compartment to the center of your vehicle. Before plugging the included 4-way socket into the tow harness, locate the fuse box under your hood and insert the provided fuses.
You can mount the 4-pole connector to your trailer hitch using the No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short # 18140 and Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144.
If you need a ball mount kit I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500lbs # 989900. It's a great starter kit with a 1-7/8" hitch ball and 2" hitch ball. The shanks will provide a drop of 2" or 4" and a rise of 1" or 3" to keep your trailer level while towing.
