Charger Recommendation for Charging LIFEPO Batteries of Truck Camper with Alternator

Question:

Hi, I am converting my tuck camper from one FLA battery to two LIFEPO. Will the Progressive Dynamics PD9145ALV fully charge the LIFEPO batteries 100 from my dual smart alternator truck ? Would a DC to DC charger also be needed or will the PD converter suffice ? I have read charging LIFEPO batteries can damage alternators, does PD converter solve this issue ? FYI the truck 7 pin has #10 wire for + and -

The Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger # PD9145ALV that you referenced isn't what you'd need but it can do a great job charging LIFEPO batteries like what you have. It would need an AC power source like plugging into a wall outlet in a house and would not be able to charge from a DC power source like an alternator.

So since your input source would be the alternator of your vehicle you'd actually want the BCDC charger from Redarc part # 331-BCDC1225D which has a Lithium profile for your LIFEPO batteries and is ideal for charging 75 to 200 amp-hour batteries.
