Would Adding 6-8 inches of Length to Ball Mount of Ram 2500 Towing Trailer Cause Issues
Question:
Picking up 2020 Airstream Caravel 22FB in a week or two. Recommended level hitch height is 19. Per Airstream specs, the 22FB has a tongue weight of 525# Im running a 2021 Ram 2500 Bighorn 4x4 with RockTamers, so I think the BWX4003 will give me the space I need for the Tamers and the to level the Airstream towing. Ill use a 1500# rated reducer for my Rams 2.5receiver. My concern is that itll push my ball about 6-8inch further away from the truck than my current set up. Aside from needing to assure my chains and 7-pin will still reach/work, will moving that pivot point/tongue-weight point further away from the truck cause any safety issues? I dont think it will, but wanting a second opinion Thank you.

Expert Reply:
Adding 6-8 inches to the length of the ball mount setup of the vehicle would not cause any issues. Especially for as heavy duty of a vehicle you have with your 2021 Ram 2500 and the relatively lightweight trailer you have compared to the capacity of your tow vehicle.
