Setting Maximum and Minimum Tire Pressure Limits For a TPMS System With Notification Alarms

Question:

I just received my Rockwood 2022 2204s travel trailer. It came with a TPMS which I can set manually. The tires on my rig say max load, 65psi cold. Does this mean I fill my tires to 65psi? What should I set the alarm notification at for min and max?

The TPMS that came on your 2022 Rockwood Mini Lite 2204S allows you to manually set the minimum and maximum tire pressure limits similar to how the TST TPMS for RVs # TST-507-RV-4-C does.

You will want to fill your tires to the 65psi that is indicated on your tires. This should be done when the tires are cold to ensure proper pressure. I do recommend using a separate Tire Gauge like the # TMG-Sport to ensure that the sensors are accurate as well. Do remember that as the tires warm up the pressure will increase. I would set your maximum at 70psi as long as your tire sensors are accurate. Any deviation from the tire sensors should be added to the maximum and minimum pressure as well. For a minimum I recommend setting that to 60psi so that you ensure that you do not run with the tires underinflated which can cause the tires to generate more heat inside and leads to a greater risk of blow outs.
