Can the Curt Trailer Hitch Handle a 1,000 Pound Trailer Towed With a 2021 Corolla Hatchback
Question:
I was looking at the Curt hitch to add to my 2021 Corolla Hatchback. I plan on using it to tow a trailer. Trailer is weighs about 1k. I believe this will work but I wanted to make sure before I buy it and try to use it. Thanks.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11567 has a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and tongue weight of 200 lbs. This means it will be able to handle towing your 1,000 lb trailer without any issues. I would also make sure to consult the owner's manual so you know the towing capacity of your vehicle. You will be limited by whichever is lower, the vehicle or hitch capacity.
Since you will be towing a trailer you will also need wiring, the Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56309.
For a ball mount, you will want something that will allow you to tow your trailer as level as possible. I have attached a link to the available ball mounts that will fit your 1-1/4" receiver, as well as a help article on how to measure to find the best rise/drop.
