Air Mattress for Weekend Van Adventures in a 2009 Kia Sedona

Question:

My boyfriend and I are thinking of van lifeing it on the weekends, we have a 2009 Kia Sedona EX. Im wondering if because of the design do I need to have the two captain chairs installed in the second row for this to perform correctly. Im thinking the chairs might provide some kind of support for the bed. Or can I remove them without loss to product performance?

For best performance of the AirBedz Rear Seat Air Mattress, # 341033 you will want full support underneath the mattress, spanning across two captains seats with a gap between will not be adequate. You will need a bench seat or a row of three seats.

My suggestion for a better air mattress is the AirBedz XUV Air Mattress w/ Built-In Battery-Powered Pump, # 341031 for tan, # 341030 for blue, and even a camo option in # 341032. This air mattress sleeps 2 adults in the rear cargo area of your Kia Sedona and will fill your entire rear cargo area and in between your wheel wells. It has a built-in, battery-powered pump that inflates and deflates mattress in minutes. Please check out the linked product review video below.

If you do not already have crossbars for your 2009 Kia Sedona and a cargo box, I suggest the Malone SteelTop Roof Rack - Square Crossbars, # MPG201. And then use the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carrier, # TRX44FR or the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, # C18115 to get some of your items out of the cargo area inside the Kia and on to the roof.
