How is the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack # S63400 Installed on a 2011 Toyota Camry

Question:

Rack looks good. How does one get the receiving square tube attached to a 2011 Toyota Camry? I take it that this rack LOCKS in place and is semi theft resistant?

The Swagman Titan is an excellent mid-priced bike rack with excellent features like an integrated cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack to deter theft as well as anti-sway cradles that help keep the bikes still during transport. The rack includes an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin, but a locking hitch pin, part # S64029 is available separately.

To install the rack on your 2011 Camry, you would first need to install a hitch. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class II hitch, part # 36416. I have linked you to the installation instructions, as well as to an installation video showing the same hitch being installed on a 2010 Camry. Many of our customers install the hitch themselves. You can read the instructions and view the video to see if the installation is something you would feed comfortable attempting yourself. If not, any mechanic should be able to easily install the hitch for you.

To carry womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # 64005 is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.

Once the hitch is installed, the Swagman Titan bike rack you referenced can easily be installed by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube far enough so that the hitch pin holes in the shank of the rack and the receiver line up. Then, install the threaded hitch pin or lock.

With the bikes secured to the rack and the rack secured to the vehicle, a reasonable amount of theft deterrence is provided.
