Replacement Cable for Swagman Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Bike Racks
Question:
I have the lock but have lost the cable. Is it possible to replace the cable only?

The Swagman Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Bike Racks, part # S64030, includes a special washer that fits into one of the loops on the ends of the cable. This washer prevents that end of the cable from being slipped over the lock mechanism.
We do offer other stand-alone lock cables that are generally similar, such as the RockyMounts Steelbraid Cable # RKY3854, but they do not have the washer in place on the loop. Without this special washer in place it might be possible to remove the cable by slipping it over the lock.
I contacted Swagman and they advised that they offer neither the cable nor the washer as separate replacement parts.
However, since you still have the anti-rattle lock you can still secure the bike carrier to your hitch receiver as before. You can then simply add a second cable and lock to secure the bikes to the carrier.
You could use an item such as the Master Lock cable noted above, along with any padlock, or you could use the Tow Ready 4-foot Cable and Lock, part # TR63255, to secure the bikes to the carrier. This will offer a more cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire Swagman unit.
