Is my display screen supposed to stay red??

The red screen on the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 indicates that either the trailer is disconnected or there is a open ground error. The no trailer connected screen should go away but the open ground error screen can persist until the issue is resolved. If you have an open ground that means the trailer is connected and P3 lost
connection to battery ground. Therefore, you'll need to check the white wire from the controller.
