Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For 2021 Ford F-250 With and Without OEM Puck System
Question:
I am considering getting a 2021 Ford F-250 8' bed and will be towing a 5th wheel trailer. If I get one with the puck system which hitch should I get, and if I get a better deal on a truck without the puck system then which hitch should I get?

Starting with if the 2021 Ford F-250 8' bed you were looking at has the OEM puck system then I recommend going with the B&W Companion # BWRVK3300 as this hitch utilizes 1" thick dual jaws for superior king pin contact giving you a safe and smooth ride, and a cam action ratcheting handle to make unhooking the trailer easy even if you are parked on uneven ground. This hitch fits directly into your puck system and does not require any sort of adapter.
If you end up getting a truck that does NOT have the puck system then I recommend the Custom Underbed Installation Kit # BWGNRK1116-5W as it will not require you to have above bed rails that get in the way, and it can also be used as a gooseneck hitch if desired.
For the 5th wheel hitch I recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500-5W which will fit directly into the the gooseneck hitch. This still has the same great features as the puck system style hitch.
If you choose a truck without the puck system then you will also want to install a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck using the # 54701-003-010 which plugs in in-line of the factory 7-way connector.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
