For your 2021 GMC Acadia, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" item # C13293. This receiver hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 750 lbs. This is the highest rated hitch receiver for the 2021 GMC Acadia. This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your GMC Acadia's frame with no welding required. The powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.
I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C56325. This T-connector plugs directly into your Acadia's OEM tow package wiring harness. It requires no cutting, splicing or tapping into your vehicles wires. The 4-pole flat trailer connector will allow you to control your trailers brake, turn signals, and running lights.
To round out your towing set up, I also recommend the Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 4" Drop - 2" Rise - 7,500 lbs item # C45056. This towing starter kit includes a 8-1/4" long powder coated ball mount, a 2" chrome-plated pre-torqued hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
I have attached a picture of what the finished look of the Curt receiver hitch item # C13293 will be. Along with installation videos for both the wiring harness and hitch.
