Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for E-Bike with Fat Tires

Question:

Hi, I have a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek with 1 1/4” hitch receiver Subaru part# L101SFL000. I would like to be able to carry two bikes. My bike, Jamis Citizen 1, is a step through frame so no top bar mounting, and also has front and back wheel fenders. I will also potentially want carry a fat tire or electric bike for the second bike. Can you offer some recommendations as to what would work best for a tilt away, fold-up, preferably with locking capability? I am including a link of comparisons I’ve done on your site of what I think might work. Any help narrowing or redirecting toward the best options is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. Best Regards!

Since you have bikes with fenders and plan to at some point carry an e-bike rack your best option would be to go with the Thule EasyFold XT E-Bike rack part # TH903202. This has the higher weight capacity you'd need for an e-bike and uses frame clamps instead of wheel clamps which allows it to work great with bikes that don't have a top frame tube as well as with fenders.

This can fit up to 3 inch wide tires as well but if you have tires wider than that you'd need the strap kit # TH985101.

This also would fit the 1-1/4 inch hitch of your Subaru Crosstrek as well.
