Recommended Ladder Rack to Carry Kayaks on 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 with Pace Edwards Jackrabbit

Question:

I bought a Pace Edwards tonneau cover about 2 yrs ago. It slides into a canister and has T slots on the rails. I am thinking of purchasing a couple of kayaks and need to get a rack to hold them I have a 2019 Chevrolet 2500 Silverado. I have a rack I currently use for bikes but it wont allow the boats to clear the cab. It only clears the cover by a couple of inches. What do you suggest. The kayaks each weigh about 70 pounds. The best solution to carry kayaks, bikes or any other accessories that you might normally mount on crossbars that's also compatible with your Pace Edwards Jackrabbit with Explorer Rails # 311-JEC95A17 is the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 500 lbs - 68" Crossbars # Y01151-58. You will also need the Tonneau Cover Adapter Kit # Y01155 to fit the rack to your Explorer rails, but this will give you an adjustable height ladder rack that will allow you to carry your kayaks above the bed and cab. The HD bars on the OverHaul have T-slots to allow for the mounting of bike carriers and kayak carriers, and they'll do a great job of replacing your old rack with one system that can do everything you're looking for.

The kayak carrier I recommend using is the Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - 1 Kayak # TH849000, which will mount in the T-slot channels on the top of the HD bars and will carry boats up to 75-lbs each. The Hull-A-Port Aero comes with tie down straps included to help secure the boats, as well.
