To get the correct replacement brake drums for your 8,000 pound axles, you will need a few things to be verified. The first will be if they are are hydraulic or electric brakes.

If they are hydraulic, we currently have the Dexter Hydraulic Drum Brake Kit - Duo Servo - 12-1/4" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 8K # 23-402-403 that will measure 12-1/4 x 3-3/8 inches. This will also use a 4 bolt pattern to attach to your axle. If you have electric brakes though, you will need a few more measurements.

We carry 3 different sizes of electric brakes for 8k axles so it is quite important. If you get 12 inches in diameter, you will need the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left Hand and Right Hand - 8K # K23-532-533-00. This also uses 4 bolts to get attached, but is specifically designed for use with AL-KO / Hayse axles. These are fairly uncommon, but they are still around and pop up every now and then.

The next two that we carry will both have a 12-1/4" diameter, but will have different widths. The Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left/Right Hand - 8K # 23-434-435 will be 3-3/8" wide and the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12-1/4" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 8,000 lbs # DX32QR will be 2-1/2" inches wide. The # DX32QR is also a fairly uncommon size, but again, they do pop up from time to time.
