Yes, you will need a sliding fifth wheel hitch to give you the clearance you need. I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550034, which features a pivoting head to allow for easy hookup and disconnect. This hitch also provides 14" of additional clearance for tight turns.
A normal sliding hitch will cause you to get out of your vehicle to manually move your hitch for each turn you want to make. Since the Demco Hijacker is an automatic sliding hitch, you will eliminate that all together, and will be ideal in poor weather conditions since you do not have to get out of your vehicle.
If you are in need of a rail kit for the Demco Hijacker # DM8550034 , the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker UMS 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # DR37FR is the correct rail system.
