Troubleshooting Door Strut And Lippert SolidStep Manual Fold-Down RV Steps Spacing Issues
Question:
I am considering the Lippert Solid Step for my 2015 Keystone Raptor but there is currently a gas strut on the bottom of my RV door that ties to a floor pin in the existing entry threshold. about 3inch from the right side That existing door bottom strut helps manage the door in windy conditions and keeps it from banging on the RV exterior . Clearly this strut will no longer function to control the entry door swing after the Lippert Solid step system is installed, so just wondering what etrailer and Lippert recommend to manage the door?

Expert Reply:
Typically in this situation you'll either have to move the strut further up on the door clear of the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 25" to 28-7/8" RV Door Frames - Quad - Aluminum # LC791574 or use a door stop like the Plastic Stem and Rubber Socket Door Holder - 2" Long Stem # DH39R to create a bumper between the door and exterior wall.
