Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2001 Ford F-150 With A 5-1/2 Bed
Question:
Will this hitch work on a 2001 F-150, 4 door, 5.5 ft bed?

Expert Reply:
I spoke with Demco and due to the size of your 2001 Ford F-150's bed you'll need to use the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Universal Install Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # DM8552009-71 and the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 13,000lbs # DM8550040. Even with this you will also need an extended pin box and could potentially still face turning clearance issues.
