Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller in a 1995 Chevy Cheyenne Pickup Truck
Question:
Is there a wiring plug available for the vehicle that the brake control can plug into? or do I need to just splice/connect wires in to vehicle wiring system. Is there a diagram on-line that shows this?

On a 1995 Chevy pickup you will need to hardwire in a brake controller. There are 3 things you will need. First, the brake controller itself. Then you will need a 4-Way trailer wiring harness unless the truck already has trailer wiring. And finally you will need a 4 and 7 way installation kit # ETBC7.
To add a 4-Way to the truck use # 118315. I have linked the instructions for you.
Next you will install the ETBC7. I have included a couple of links that will help with the ETBC7 installation. Some models of the Chevy pickup do have the brake (blue) and hot lead (orange or red) wires already ran from under the hood to the end of the drivers side frame rail. However, these wires are hard to access and additional wire will still be needed so ETBC7 is still recommended.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2 # 90885. This controller is easy to set up, easy to use, and is reliable. I have linked the instructions for the P2 for you as well. If you already have the Voyager, # 39510 you can use it as well.
