Recommended Trailer Hitch and 2 Bike Rack For 2016 Toyota Prius

Question:

Does the company offer a 2inch receiver for the Prius 2016 I prefer this trailer hitch but it has a 1 1/4inch receiver. I have a 2inch bike rack. Or should I just buy another bike rack that fits in the 1 1/4inch receiver. If I need to purchase a bike rack for two bikes which one would you recommend that is the simplest and does not require additional straps? Thank you

I do have a recommendation for you, but there is not a 2" trailer hitch receiver available for your 2016 Toyota Prius nor is there an adapter to adapt the receiver on the hitches available for your vehicle to 2" that you can retain your current bike rack without overloading the hitch.

Starting with the hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite # 24966 as it does not require any stabilization straps, and will fit your Prius perfectly. This hitch is pretty straight forward to install and will only require trimming a small section of the underbody trim on your vehicle for the receiver to fit.

Next for a compatible two bike rack I recommend going with the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S64683 which will allow you to carry two bikes weighing up to 45lbs each and will fit the above trailer hitch perfectly.
