Can the Demco 8705101 Be Used With Drum Brakes

Question:

I just ordered a Demco 8705101 to replace my Atwood 61101. I think I should have ordered a different one as it appears the Atwood was for drum brakes and the Demco I ordered was for disc brakes. Can you help straighten me out on this? Thanks!

Since the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM62VR is designed specifically for disc brakes you will not be able to use this for your drum brakes. This actuator will provide more fluid pressure when compared to one made for drum brakes.

What you are looking for is the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Drum - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM72VR. The Demco part is 8705001, it is the drum brake equivalent of the 8705101 you purchased. I have attached a review video for your reference.
